.. envision a meadow of the mind which refreshes and sustains you where each time you find what has been trying to find you ..
Susan

Meadowlore is a vocational creative outreach attracting artists, makers, traditional story-tellers and aspiring creatives. Together, in good company, we enjoy inspiration, flowing connection and holistic way-finding in the everyday → Meetings in the Meadow

Created to nurture connections and share practical know-how. My experience enables all sorts of people: from intense introverts to expressive extroverts, from sensitive specialists to nervous novices. Offering profoundly other ways of being, we welcome inspiration, allow flow and find expression, through tension-release, noticing how to notice and practical know-how. My different approach balances information, inspiration and immersion → Susan's Way

RETURNING REGULARS + RANDOMS are warmly welcomed to gather in the online Meadows, to attune, be highly expressive or quietly present and gradually involved. We let go the tension of our digital days in simple, uncomplicated ways. As this starts to feel effortless and sustainable, flow naturally manifests – inwards and outwards.

Once familiar with the generative resonance of flow, your developed awareness will shine through your creative ways: painting or drawing, doodling and dabbling, imprinting, inking, sketching, weaving fibres, weaving words or telling stories – and living simply more vibrantly and at ease, everyday.

Celebrating the cyclical spiral of life, we align with shifting seasons in our immediate surroundings. As with much profound change, we start with our natural organic selves. Through our sensory perceptions we discover how to become uncomplicated and still. This becoming ‘unconditional’ allows presence and inspiration to arrive, settle in your body, in your breathing and in your state of mind.

Meadows remain small, friendly, live-online gatherings - without recordings - we meet in the moment.

Susan’s Way
explorer enabler creative spirit

I create myself and enable creative ways in others. Guiding immersion and discovery across many practices, across sensory perceptions, sensibilities and across different materials. Intrigued by how we immerse, rather than strive for external approval or chase only commercial end-gains. My way of experiencing the natural world, noticing how to notice and how others transform, informs all that I offer.

My particular weave of professional trainings, qualifications and established practices are grounded in practical, experiential know-how from developing hundreds of people over many years (→ Summary pdf).

"Are you breathing just a little and calling it a life .."
Mary Oliver

Our breathing synchronises with the greater ebb and flow of life. Our exhale creates space for the next inhale, just as clearing out, always precedes, invites and welcomes the new. An un-cluttered, comfortable body can feel flow and cooperate creatively with ideas and inspiration.

Inspiration, of a breath or an idea, derives from the Latin root ‘inspirare’ and is centred inwards. ‘Enspire’ from Middle English, signifies a subtle shift: to impart a truth or idea to someone. Thus, sharing and reaching outwards to others. My ways continue to evolve to inspire natural generative flow within and to ‘enspire’ outwards to other artists, makers, writers, en-actors and storytellers. In essence, how to connect and convey, how to reach, touch and profoundly move others.

Exactly how awareness comes to us is a supremely interesting. How we notice, hear, listen, interpret, integrate and whether we record, manifest or combine a blend of both. I specialise in exactly how such variations happen as an adult, which radically differs from developing as a child.

I specialise in enabling subtle shifts in awareness, altering perspectives and plotting another course, from a more attuned centred compass. From another perspective, my approach enables flow to become interested in coursing through us once again. How to navigate smooth(er) transitions, find your Creative Impulse, sustain flow and engage creativity – in artistic, vocal and life matters.

My own creativity thrives through discovering, honouring and sharing. These three weaves are enriched through my own creative living: listening, sounds within words, drawing, sacred geometry nature pressings. Natural living: sensing the land, living by natural light and seasonal shifts - rather than clocks and calendars! Keeping company with koans along the Way, awake to fleeting moments in the ordinary everyday. Flow living: sending energy outwards through Meadowlore brings about many synchronistic meetings and remarkably timely encounters, affirming: When you are ready the teacher will appear ..

‘Zen carries many meanings, none of them entirely definable. If they are defined, they are not Zen. Zen Spirit has come to mean not only peace and understanding, but devotion to art and to work, the rich unfolding of contentment, opening the door to insight, the expression of innate beauty, the intangible charm of incompleteness.’ – from Zen Flesh Zen Bones

Meadow's Story
meadow: naturally fertile ecosystem
lore: passed between people rooted in land

Meadows are always beckoning! From my very first glimpse, through young eyes, of fresh Alpine Meadows to the gracious Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Meadows at Kingcombe in Dorset. In leeward pastures or magical glades encountered on rural walks, I recognise Nature’s nurseries and sanctuaries. I walk to them and through them. Wait still within them for wild animals, birds and insects to gather under gentle breezes, validated by the vibrational energy of naturally restorative places.

For a long time I wondered how to share a synthesis of my interests, ways and professional practices. Combining ‘Meadow’ / ‘lore' came to me during the Corona years whilst diving deep into Alchemy through the gifted guidance of artist and educator, Kate Southworth. Magical memories of silvery glints shimmering through dark times – enlightening and transforming our shifting awareness in profoundly affirming company.

Meadowlore emerged as a seedling, as we did. Envisioning has become a thriving, online, outward reaching vine, connecting people you wished lived only round the corner, shared your studio, writers group, book club, plant-care and walks.

Together we share creative flow, lore, natural Gaia intelligence and the inner-vision of people living this one sacred life, creatively. The Meadows, as online gatherings across the globe, enable vibrant uplifting, thriving connection – as our creative ancestors lived, long before national borders.

Creativity thrives in lore passed intimately from person-to-person through: anecdotes, stories, seeming mystery, alchemy and grounded practical know-how. Discovered visually in images, marks and symbols of painting, drawing, geometry, petroglyphs and Nature’s astonishing patterns and pigments. Or found in tactile, fine and practical hand-craft across pottery, papyrus, reed, paper, cotton or silk, inking, imprinting and including natural findings. An uplifting inheritance seeking to be shared, to enrich our creativity, to guide and inspire us today.

Returning Regulars and Randoms are warmly welcomed to our online → Meetings in the Meadow. Resonating? Feeling simply curious about creativity, lore and life? Do join us in discovering and finding creativity in good company.
